After leaving college, I was asked to consider a role in the health industry, which seemed a suitable fit after studying sports science. I joined a large health insurance company specialising in client wellbeing and medical advice, as well as a counselling service.

I worked closely with various departments, including claims and underwriting which gave clarity to the phrase ‘the value of any premium is in the claim‘. Helping people through difficult times was really important when working in sales, my understanding of what was important shaped my client values and is so important in my client advice today.

I was then approached to join a local family run health insurance brokerage who had great plans and jumped at the opportunity, I rose to sales manager before the company was sold to a large industry corporate. I was invited to stay and promoted, however the opportunity to start my own brand, following my own client ethos and journey, was too great. Private Medical Insurance Brokers was born catering for every type of client, but with a personally tailormade solution.

My goal of creating a client facing Private Medical partner, offering a fully transparent personalised client service, has become a reality.
